Miguel Gomez was born in Germany in 1962 in Wiesloch to an Italian father and Spanish mother.↵In 1968 he moved to Paris with his father, an established artist, from an early age knew and frequented the ateliers of Pablo Picasso and Jean Dubuffet. But it was his encounter with Salvador Dali that would definitively mark Miguel Gomez's path, bringing him closer to art in all its forms and expressions. He attended art school in Bari and at the age of 19, for about a year, toured Europe as a street artist. He returned to Italy and attended the Institute Academy in Turin. From 1987 to 1994, he dedicated himself to engraving, collaborating with artists such as Emilio Greco, Aligi Sassu, Renzo Vespignani and Enrico Baj. Since 1994 he has dedicated himself to researching new artistic expressions and since 2009, in addition to painting, Miguel Gomez expresses himself through body art, performance art, video art and installations. In 2013 he collaborated, producing a video art and performance for the artist Vincenzo Lo Sasso (an artist who was part of Andy Warhol's factory) participating with a video art "The creature of birth and sorrow, in the exhibition "I fiori dell'aglio" and with a performance "Naked time" in the exhibition, also by Lo Sasso, "Mater il futuro I love my ghost" in the Sassi of Matera. Also in 2013, he collaborated with one of his body art performances at the anthological exhibition of Maestro William Tode, the last living artist of the neo-realist group and former director of the Uffizi Museum's study office in Florence. 2014 participates in "Pollination London Biennale" London-GB. 2016 exhibition for the Museum of the Popes in the Cathedral of Turin and screening of one of his video art works in the Roman Theatre of Aosta. The studio/atelier is located in a 17th century church, Santa Teresa dei Maschi, in the old town of Bari. Gomez has exhibited in: Freiburg, Karlsruhe, Heidelberg, Amsterdam, New York, London, Sidney, Paris, Rome, Athens, Bari, Matera, Cerignola, Policoro, Ascoli Satriano, Pazin, Croatia, Buje, Croatia, Olympia, Greece, Tokyo, Freising, Rieti, Padova, Taranto, Parma, Caltanissetta. Curator of International events such as Women in...Art, Xchange, he is currently art director of Bibart International Biennial of Bari and metropolitan area and responsible for visual and performing arts of Artoteca Vallisa and president of A.P.S Federico II Eventi. Miguel Gomez is also director of the Museum of Natural Coloured Pigments in Santa Teresa dei Maschi, Bari Italy.
