The Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico (Spanish: Universidad Politécnica de Puerto Rico; shortened to PUPR and commonly referred to in Spanish as La Poli) is a private university with its main campus in San Juan, Puerto Rico, with additional campuses in Orlando and Miami, Florida. Founded in 1966, PUPR specializes in engineering, architecture, land surveying and geomatics, computer science, and business administration.
Academics
[edit]PUPR offers a range of degree programs in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, land surveying and geomatics, computer science, and business administration. It is recognized for graduating the second largest number of Hispanic engineers among higher education institutions in the United States and its territories. As of fall 2022, the university has over 4,000 students enrolled, with approximately 80% of them in the College of Engineering, which is the largest private Hispanic engineering school in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.[4]
Accreditation
[edit]PUPR is accredited by the Council of Higher Education of Puerto Rico, the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, and several specialized accrediting bodies, including the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) and the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
