I have nominated Time and fate deities in popular culture, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Time and fate deities in popular culture. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Guy (Help!) 09:45, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Civility

[edit]

Hello. Completely agree with your stance on the whole pop-culture trivia thing, but try to keep it WP:CIVIL - if your only apparent argument against the trivia is that you're being sarcastic and abusive, then the trivia fans only have to be sarcastic and abusive back at you to feel that they can re-add the content. Slap them down with WP:TRIVIA or WP:IINFO.

Good to see another apocalypse pun name out there. --McGeddon (talk) 21:43, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not delete content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to War in Darfur, without explaining the valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. Please stop. If you continue to blank out or delete portions of page content, templates or other materials from Wikipedia, as you did to Competitive eating, you will be blocked from editing. --EncycloPetey (talk) 04:44, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Try to be more Zen. Sometimes doing nothing is better than doing something (see Wikipedia:Handling_trivia#Practical_steps #7). I've looked at your recent edits. Many of the trivia items you've removed were rightfully eliminated, as they had nothing to do with the article in question. Not so in this case. The list of items is very much about popular perception of competitive eating and its presentation in various media. Although it is presented as a list, much or most of the material could reasonably be worked into prose format, or (possibly) coverted to a List in its own right. Deleting material is not always the solution. --EncycloPetey (talk) 05:16, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I refer you again to Wikipedia:Handling_trivia#Practical_steps #7. "There is no deadline". --EncycloPetey (talk) 05:31, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I also am doing what I think is right. Please do not make threats or get angry, since you seem to understand this principle as well. If you do things because you think they are right, then you should not fault another person for doing the same. --EncycloPetey (talk) 07:18, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article Jeff Jacobson (Alaskan) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No clear notability per WP:POLITICIAN. No sources confirming WP:BIO regardless.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Andy Christ! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to this article, it would greatly help us with the current 3 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Susumu Hirasawa - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

File permission problem with File:HyundaiLiberoSRX.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:HyundaiLiberoSRX.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Magog the Ogre (talk) 00:15, 26 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
