Media:Moved to Nick GAS (from Nick GaS). While the logo has a lowercase "a", the official web site uses a capital "A" whenever it refers to the channel name. --Chessphoon 01:33, 11 Oct 2004 (UTC)

This page keeps getting vandalized by somebody in the 198.246.32.* IP range. Given the shoddy grammar, it is probably a little kid doing this. If this keeps up, the page might need to be locked until this user stops editing it. --Kilby 07:34, 8 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have warned the user at 198.246.32.99 to stop vandalizing this and other pages (he is also messing with the VH1 and G4 pages). If he does it again (he has been warned a total of four times so far), he will be reported. --Kilby 20:35, 9 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I just reverted his edits again. --Caldorwards4 02:49, 18 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted this Vandalism by this ID 68.193.121.126 On November 1, 2005 Pumping GAS was removed which caused Super Sloppy Double Dare, Global GUTS, along with Rocket Power, Speed Racer, Scaredy Camp, SK8-TV, and Family Double Dare were removed and it were replaced with additional repeats of shows such as Legends of the Hidden Temple, Get the Picture, GUTS, Figure it Out and Double Dare 2000.

As of present day Nick GAS remains the same as it was since November 2005. --91BOY 18:23, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nick Gas messing up the tv schedule?

[edit]

Nick Gas messing up the tv schedule or are they? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.245.8.33 (talk) 13:08, 15 July 2008 (UTC) I have added the closure date with a note that DISH Network subscribers still get Nick GAS. Hookyboysb1 (talk) 21:01, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Programming

[edit]

I would like to say that, like all of the other "nostalgia" networks, this network has corrupted. Many of the old shows, like What epeated. This is obviously a very low budget operation for Nickelodeon (read: Viacom). When this channel was first picked up by my cable provider, there were literally only 5 or 6 different segments, so you'd start to see them loop after just an hour. Now it's at least a bit more mixed up. --MMX 05:32, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I would prefer that there be no commercials. However, I will agree, that this network has become (if I'm using the word correctly) stagnant, showing that same old shows over and over again ever since Pumping GAS got cancelled. It feels as though this network isn't even aware of its own existence anymore...

Getting the axe

[edit]

Somehow I feel that GAS might eventually get the axe. Reason is all they do is show the same old shows over and over again and Nick Arcade is only shown at the wee a.m. hours of the morning and there hasn't been any new shows lately. Anyone else feel this way. rksexy2finger

I agree. It was bad that they removed Double Dare, but kept Double Dare 2000. They need more Nick game shows. They have the programming, just not the interest. 67.188.172.165 18:08, 24 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah they still have rights to those shows they took off oviously because they were made by Nick so of corse they'll always have rights to them. I may contact them about this sometime. rksexy2finger

Only Regular Figure It Out

[edit]

Figure It Out Classic is on the network only. Wild Style and Family Style were removed from the network. I'm glad for this because family talents and secrets are not as prestigious, and animal-related talents and secrets can be disturbing, like pigeon bowling. I agree with the overpopulation of pigeons, but that doesn't mean you can use them like a bowling ball.

Figure It Out

[edit]

Figure It Out Family Style Still runs on Nick GAS. Once in a blue moon Figure It Out Wild Style airs. The show descripiton on the tv guide still says Figure It Out even when wild style or family style is on.

The original Figure It Out seldom airs. I'm thinking that it was dropped in favor of the themed versions. 67.188.172.165 19:24, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Since Figure it out Wild and Family Styles didnt air alot in the past few weeks they are now playing more often than not and in a few weeks reg FIO will come back on more than Family and Wild Styles--71.52.200.202 22:14, 3 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I hope that they change the lineup because legends and guts repeat alot and almost everytime I channel surf one of those shows are on! I do like those shows but nick gas really needs more! They show the same shows over and over.--Pinkhayzze 21:15, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wild Style and Family Style wereremoved and they are! GD1223 14:59, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Website

[edit]

I added a link to Nick.com's Sports Central since the Nick GAS site is under construction. --91BOY 17:51, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As of today the Nick GAS webpage on Nick.com says it is "under construction", possibly indicting a change in format of the website, television channel or both and second thought the Nick GAS will probably be change to Nick Rewind channel on next year which it shows Live Action featuring Games, Sitcoms, Reality and Sports with no Animated Shows, so say goodbye to Nick GAS forever and welcome Nick Rewind.

Sorry to break this to you, but the website you posted has no relevence whatsoever to the Nick GAS channel. As a result, I removed it. Brittany Ka 13:17, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nick Rewind Channel

[edit]

Please stop adding information about Nick GAS being turned into a rewind channel. A fan site is not enough proof to add the information. When/If Viacom (who owns Nickelodeon) issues a press release then the infomation can be added. Tazz765 23:48, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As of today the Nickelodeon GAS webpage on Nick.com says it is "under construction", possibly indicating a change in format of the website, television channel or both. Several insiders are reporting a major shift in programming currently to take place sometime in June. The network will be revamping the format to appeal to a newer generation. Nickelodeon GAS will no longer showcase older programs and will be offering all original content targeted to the tween demographic.

Does anyone have a sorce on this?

No, this is just the same vandal that keeps adding this nonsense to the main article.Tazz765 03:48, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Finders Keepers

[edit]

Well, looks like Finders Keepers has been moved to 2:00a E/T. That's another show that's being knocked off the daytime lineup. It and Nick Arcade should simply be removed or brought back to daytime, afternoon, or evening. 67.188.172.165 19:26, 2 September 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Finders Keepers has been removed from Nick Gas replaced it is Figure It Out & Legends Of The Hidden Temple.

When did that happen? 69.141.79.71 19:01, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If it is the 2am est one, you will see legends of the hidden temple. if it is the 5am est one, you will see figure it out. it's sad how nick is slowly taking away the old shows. I bet next up is get the picture or nick arcade being replaced with Guts or something like that.

Semi-Protection

[edit]

Is it possible to get semi-protection on this page since it seems to be unregistered users adding the nonsense? Tazz765 23:59, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nickelodeon Arcade

I am really surprised this show hasn't been booted off Nick GaS. I can't imagine that many kids tuning in at 4:00am and 4:30am. 69.141.79.71 20:08, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nick GAS takes Get the Picture off the air

[edit]

So well, is Nick GAS gonna be prepared to remove Get the Picture and It should be replaced by the following shows that are airing: Double Dare 2000, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Nickelodeon GUTS, Nick Arcade, Figure It Out or other shows have not been airing: Wild and Crazy Kids, Global GUTS, Finders Keepers, Double Dare, Super Sloppy Double Dare, Family Double Dare. Nick GAS takes Nick Arcade off the air

[edit]

So well, is Nick GAS gonna be prepared to remove Nick Arcade and replace with another episode of Guts at 4AM by September 2007 before September 2006 that Finders Keepers removed?

It's been a year since Finders Keepers been removed. Nick Arcade needs to be back in the daytime because since 2005, Get the Picture have not been yet to replaced at 12-1pm CT by another show while other shows along with Finders Keepers, Double Dare, Super Sloppy Double Dare, Family Double Dare & Global GUTS have not been airing on the network since then.12.127.178.158 22:17, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nick GAS' Last Minute Change Predictions

[edit]

the bad news is Get the Picture will expected to be removed by the end of September 2007 because it did'nt air in morning or evening hours so it will be needed replaced by Nickelodeon GUTS or any other show at 1pm ET, 4pm ET & 3am ET meaning Nick Arcade add more airings in morning, noon or evening. the good news that before being switch to broadband, the network planned to air finale week on 12/24-30/07.68.188.126.78 17:47, 15 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why is that bad news? "Get the Picture" was the worst game show of the glory years by far. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.210.59.96 (talk) 07:01, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nick GAS to become an online-only service

[edit]

On December 31, 2007 Nickelodeon GAS is slated to leave the digital cable channel lineup and become an online-only service, with The N slated to take over Nick GAS's channel position after splitting from Noggin. DirecTV has confirmed that they will air both Noggin and The N. It is unknown if Dish Network, even though it carries Nick GAS, will carry The N in their lineup.

Putting scheduled end date in infobox

[edit]

Recently, there has been edit warring over whether the infobox should have the scheduled end date of December 31, 2007. I personally think we shouldn't add the end date until it actually goes off the air, but that's my opinion. What do you all think? RJaguar3 | u | t 02:33, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

DISH and GAS?

[edit]

Is there a reason why Nick GAS is not off of Dish Network yet? Or is it just because they are waiting until 6PM on 12/31 or until 2008? GD1223 (talk) 15:53, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Who knows, Nick GAS should still be a black screen (For it was starting after 6:00 AM, witnessed by viewers.), but it's back to broadcasting it's normal daily schedule for some reason. DietLimeCola (talk) 16:47, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The reason why Nick GAS is still on Dish Network because Get the Picture has not been removed from lineup but it's been on GAS since 1999, Nick Arcade not yet been reinstated in the daytime and Both Global GUTS and the original Double Dare not have been back on the schedule. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.230.151.128 (talk) 21:05, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OFF THE AIR

[edit]

It is now official. Nickelodeon Games & Sports is now Off the Air. iO still shows the channel saying Off Air with the logo being Nick GAS and the 3 letter title being GAS. I'll add the ending date and a part of the article that says it's now off the air. I also should mention that The N is now airing on this channel. 68.197.90.193 (talk) 00:59, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's what Nick GAS has scheduled weeks/months ago, but due to Dish Network's brilliant planning, Nick GAS is back on the air (This was a last minute change, and last minute changes usually do not appear on the schedule). DietLimeCola (talk) 02:47, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
How come I can't see it on broadband like they claimed? I can't find it anywhere online, let alone TurboNICK. 71.249.255.91 (talk) 14:10, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dish Network airing this channel - not a glitch?

[edit]

Many of us believed the fact that Dish Network was still airing Nick GAS to be the fault of glitches incurred as a result of the switch. However, it turns out that this may be completely intentional. Read here. EPX2 (talk) 01:08, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Viacom did not plan for this of course, this is flat out Dish Network's doing. Viacom expected Dish Network to make the change, but for some reason they're not doing it for whatever reason. Like I stated before, starting at 6AM on 12/31/07, Nick GAS was nothing but a black screen, but about two hours later (after DirecTV corrected the problem), Viacom put Nick GAS back on the air probably due to Dish Network's request. We need people with Dish Network to view Nick GAS every once in a while until the official switch is made or until Nick GAS goes off the air again. (because as scheduled, the channel should not be broadcasting anything right now). Due to this, the close date of this channel might have to be changed too if it continues to air programs tomorrow and beyond. DietLimeCola (talk) 02:39, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for keeping us updated, however I don't think it's going off the air until late January. Has anyone checked out the broadband channel on Turbonick though (I can't because I don't have Windows Vista), it might be showing the exact same programming as the one on Dish Network. If so, then Nick GAS may stay on way longer than we thought. DietLimeCola (talk) 16:23, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I still can't see it online anywhere. I have Verizon FIOS at home and it's already off the air. I don't know why it is that Nick GaS is not online. Anyone know? 71.249.255.91 (talk) 21:20, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think turbonick is an on demand thing, not an actual constantly streaming live network. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.9.23.56 (talk) 22:43, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I couldn't find it on demand. Perhaps it's not out for Verizon FiOS. In any event, I don't think it's available to anyone at all (other than Dish viewers). 71.190.208.128 (talk) 06:15, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

after seeing someone wrote info about this page related to Dish Network's issues with the N's launch as a 24/7 channel which was from a forum from the N website (which is not reliable source for info because the story about Dish Network opting out, is still a rumor at this time) so until Viacom or Dish Network makes a statement about the N/Nick Gas situation is made on their websites, so please lock this page to guest and new users of Wikipedia so they don't edit the page, because the user who wrote the info is a guest who has no name (the person who wrote the info is 71.124.50.191) since this page was reverted back after someone seen the reedit that isn't confirm by dish or Viacom (who owns Nick Gas and The N) so can we have that happen so this don't get reposted until Viacom or Dish Network can confirm it or it appears in a legit news website.--Boutitbenza 69 9 (talk) 04:29, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It was a contract dispute or something it might be off soon.GD1223 (talk) 22:23, 29 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Dish Network suffered a glitch in removing the channel and accidentally kept it however Nick GAS will go off the air tomorrow morning after Figure It Out this is official Matthew Cantrell (talk) 22:11, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You're wrong. Nick GaS was kept by Dish until early-2009 in order CN to launch its new wst feed coast. And, eh, it was a good channel while it lasted... wait for it... WHY NICK GAS!?!? WHY!?!?!!?!?

It's time to lock this article for awhile

[edit]

Once again, people from the message board, theN.com, have been putting false statements on the Nick GAS and the N articles. Dish Network has brought out no new news about the switch -- or if there will ever be a switch. It's obviously not an error/glitch, because reprogramming shouldn't take over a year (they say January 31, 2009 - remember when GAS didn't shut down -- they brought up all sorts of dates just like this one). Seems like those people at theN.com can't get over the fact that the switch isn't happening and it may never happen and obviously don't know how to make anything on Wikipedia look real nor do they bring up a reliable source.

Archive of the Nick GAS Homepage

Here's the most recent archive of the Nick GAS homepage from archive.org (2005)

Messed Up Nick Gas

[edit]

There is one bumper, Tony Hawk's Trade Trick, where the sounds were all there, but the voices were nowhere to be found. They had this version, and a fixed version with the talking that still airs to this day.

Nick GAS had a bug that lasted about 2 months where the logo was a bit bigger and the bumpers desynched in sound for the last ten seconds of them.

is the nick games and sports channel changeing into a nick rewind channel and showing older programming? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.245.18.200 (talk) 20:30, 3 November 2008 (UTC) No. And You should already know this. 76.164.164.173 (talk) 17:07, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nick Gas Gone From Dish Network

[edit]

Nickelodeon has decided to officially shutdown Nick GAS as of January 1, 2009. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.245.15.236 (talk) 23:01, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

But seriously, where is a reliable source that can be used to verify this? RJaguar3 | u | t 05:36, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've reverted the move

[edit]

...because it is still speculation and unsourced. Once the channel is finally removed and there is a reliable source to show it, feel free to move the page back. RJaguar3 | u | t 06:10, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, it's not off... so... what now? 76.164.164.173 (talk) 17:07, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Let just pray that Nick Gas will be removed on January 31, 2009 from Dish Network and be replaced by The N 24/7 on 177.

No, let's pray that doesn't happen since that will be a huge step down from greatness to crap. Only a nerd would want this.

I don't really care, because it's not what it used to be, but I would just like to see what the change from dish would look like.76.164.164.173 (talk) 18:45, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Gamefarm

[edit]

Since I seem to be the only one with knowledge of the show, I have created an article about it. If someone could fix the link in the articles to make it to where it redirects to this article instead of the GAS article, I'd appreciate it.Devann (talk) 13:52, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Original Syndication

[edit]

Didn't it start as a special time-slot on the main Nickelodeon channel?

What, Nick GAS? No, I don't think so, but they did have a block with game shows, I believe. Devann (talk) 20:33, 8 March 2009 (UTC) Devann (talk) 20:33, 8 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

New Logo?

[edit]

Who changed the logo? I liked the old one better, not the blue one. My Site is awesomeness. It wins one internetz and 4 cookies. (talk) 23:46, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Possible 24/7 Date?

[edit]

Anyone else think Nick GaS will die the day they switch Noggin and The N to Nick Jr. and Teenick, Respectively? If they do, I wonder if they might keep nick gas, or take it off the air, but keep it, revamp it, and re-release it? My Site is awesomeness. It wins one internetz and 4 cookies. (talk) 01:38, 13 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I am not 100% sure. I have a few friends recording the channel and caping all the shows in high quality DSRs. Once all the shows are completed, I could care less what happens to the channel. It's just run by computers now, and that really shows how much Viacom really is not interested in this channel anymore. (JALsnipe (talk) 17:35, 13 April 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Nick Arcade

[edit]

There were a total of 85 episodes taped. When Nick Arcade aired on Nick, each season was broken up into 40 episodes. The remaining 5 are still unaired to this day. When Gas started, 64 out of the original aired 80 episodes were re-run. Now, Gas only shows 57 out of those 64. I was lucky enough to find a copy of the aired pilot before it was removed from the Nick Arcade lineup. I'll post my Nick Arcade ep list here in a little bit. (JALsnipe (talk) 17:35, 13 April 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Here's the ep list. Remember, this is an incomplete list and is missing the contestant's names for three episodes, but I think I have done a good job so far. The known production order is listed for each episode. If the production number is not known, the production year listed instead. 1991 = Season 1, 1992 = Season 2.

Finally Gone

[edit]

As of 4/24/09 Nick Gas has been removed from Dish Networks. On May 27th, The N and Noggin will split and go 24/7. Well,You guys will get it before the rebrand after all. It's been a trip Viacom, Nick Gas will forever live in the lives of those who watched it. (JALsnipe (talk) 11:38, 24 April 2009 (UTC))[reply]

I must ask, would the channel GSN have to pay royalties to Nickelodeon and Viacom in order to gain rights to the Nickelodeon Game Shows?--70.240.227.128 (talk) 23:11, 7 May 2009 (UTC)Chris[reply]

Hmm, I'm not 100% sure but I would have to assume so. Viacom is picky about their rights, so I'm sure someone will be getting paid if that does happen, which is unlikely. (JALsnipe (talk) 02:27, 12 May 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Yeah, Nick GaS SUCKS without us. But, it did close on April. HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO SUCH AN INNACENT CHANNEL, CARTOON NETWORK!? YOU SUCK! Opps. Sorry about that. What are the odds? Nick GaS closing on April? [laughter] AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! GOD DAMN YOU, CARTOON NETWORK!!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.243.19.150 (talk) 21:21, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Even though the west feed of cartoon network is on the channel nick gas was on, nick gas was killed by Noggin & The N wanting to split & go 24/7. so if anyone is to blame, it's viacom, noggin & the N. --Lightningleakless (talk) 07:00, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, all this talk is fine and dandy, but remember that Wikipedia's Talk Pages are NOT a forum of disscusion about the article's topic! Yes, I do agree that Nick GAS does suck without us, and I wish GSN does pay royalties to Nickelodeon and Viacom to gain rights to the Nickelodeon Game Shows, but please only talk about improvements to this article!--Tomballguy (talk) 00:06, 14 June 2009 (UTC)Chris[reply]

And may I add, we are trying to be a family website. Please try to keep the language down. Thanks! My, It wins one internetz and 4 cookies. (talk) 00:17, 1 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Now, personaly, Nick GaS is completley off the air. Which totally sucks. If Vaicom, Noggin, and The N wouldn'tve been complete morons, Nick GaS wouldn't have died. Still, I kinda blame Cartoon Network and DISH Network too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.243.23.219 (talk) 19:22, 24 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

NEW NICK GAS?

[edit]

Rumors on this YouTube page shows "at 6:00am on July 22, 2010 Spike TV left digital cable and satellite for directv and dish network after an episode Jail replaced by New Nick GAS for My Family's Got Guts & BrainSurge." by YouTube Username, lerdalparker23. April 1, 2012 was months ago. It must be a joke! They should have a Nick GAS Week on Nick or something like that. --99.25.125.117 (talk) 19:46, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think a upcoming spongebob special might be a spark meaning more sports programs and then start a nick sports channel — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.54.85.170 (talk) 02:09, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

First, Figure it Out comes back. Second, Spongebob has a sports special! Third, Nickelodeon launches a new game show called Splatalot! Fourth, Dora the Explorer and Team Umizoomi have sports primetime premieres on 8/13.

Could this be a spark of a New Nick Gas? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.25.125.117 (talk) 21:30, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
