As I understand it DEWlite platform was scrapped because it would have been too expensive. The Mustang going into production next year shares almost nothing with the DEW cars, and is instead based largely on Mazda parts and processes. This new platform is known as DC2 (not to be confused with - but probably based largely on - the CD2 Mazda FWD/AWD midsize platform). -- stewacide
