Clifford Leroy George Sikorsky is first free Russian Black soviet Family American.

That name comes up with exactly zero hits on google, and the sentence as currently worded is impossible to make sense of. --Delirium 19:52 12 Jul 2003 (UTC)

Out of Wikiproject spaceflight scope

[edit]

This disambig page doesn't seem to be in-scope for wikiproject spaceflight. Was there a rationale for that? (sdsds - talk) 03:54, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lunar crater? Or is that outside scope? WP Moon? TREKphiler hit me ♠ 17:11, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I hope no potential contributors were driven away by the preceding ... uh, mind-f***. (I almost spent time explaining why Dabs all belong to WP:Wikiproject Disambiguation, but very rarely have enuf overlap with other ones to make membership useful... “Ya could look it up”, maybe ... but don’t bother! —user:JerzyA 10:10, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Primary topic and cut/paste moves

[edit]

Please do not move the DAB page without discussion, and by cut-and-paste move, especially. without attribution. Sikorsky Aircraft received nearly twice the page views of Igor over the past year, and that's not enough to make the company the primary topic either. As for splitting off the Sikorski DAB page, this has all been covered at Sikorsky for over 15 years, thus has de facto consensus, and so ought to be discussed beforehand. Thanks. BilCat (talk) 20:33, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@BilCat:Thank you for the explanation. Now it makes sense. I agree this must be discussed. However the article Sikorski has nothing to do with this. I wrote a completely new, referenced, article about a polish surname. I callenge uyou to point whetre you see cut-and-pase move'. Lembit Staan (talk) 20:44, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, you wrote some new material, but it's still redundant to what was at Sikorsky, especially the list of names. I'm not opposing that change per se, but it needs to be part of the overall discussion first so other editors can discuss it. BilCat (talk) 20:47, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
There is nothing redundant. Sikorsky lede is unreferenced nonsense. The list of names is not copyrightable, you know that "phonebook" defense, right? My article Sikorski is about a Polish surname. Sikorsky comes from Russian langauge and in fact it is overwhelmingly unique: all "otheruses" are associated with one and the same person. Lembit Staan (talk) 20:54, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I will call for the disussion tomorrow, I am busy with other thins now. Lembit Staan (talk) 20:55, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

List of Sikorskis

[edit]

A list of people named Sikorski is in here and in there. Either merge the articles or scrap them here. Rp (talk) 09:07, 27 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
