Wondering how to edit this U.S. County Entry?
The WikiProject U.S. Counties standards might help.

*sigh* Controversies need to be verifiable. 141.140.121.195 (talk) 02:49, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This county is making me stay up late... Obama or not? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.106.212.4 (talk) 03:14, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Can we add a section that states county residents count on a 1st grade level? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.85.161.235 (talk) 04:17, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

County Sheriff

[edit]

I placed a strikethrough over Sheriff Buncich and gave a reference from the Chicago Tribune. The sheriff was convicted in federal court and forfeited his position. My change was reverted. Are we not interested in a factual encyclopedia? Rhadow (talk) 02:18, 30 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Of course we are. We are also interested in keeping content neutral and balanced. We are also not a newspaper and we also do not put undue weight on recent events. If you think this is a unique situation, you are sorrowfully under informed on the history of this county. Corruption in government has been a staple in Lake County politics since Gary was founded in the early 1900s. How is it balanced and neutral to single out one individual case to cover here, simply because there are easy to find sources for it? Sources exist for much more, they just don't necessarily show up in a quick Google search. A search of the Gary Post Tribune or the NWI (formerly Hammond) Times will show you at least a dozen other elected officials convicted while in office and numerous more appointed or employed folks. Political corruption in Lake County, Indiana would be a notable subject on its own. John from Idegon (talk) 03:03, 30 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
