John Lennon? Surely Johnny Ace (Johnny Marshall Alexander, Jr.)?ThetestingofLSDbytheUSarmy 03:26, 14 Nov 2003 (UTC) http://www.rockabilly.nl/artists/johnny_ace.htm

Both, actually. The first verses of the song which deal with the "real" Johnny Ace set up the devastating last verse which is about Lennon. When Simon sang debuted the song at the Central Park concert in 1982, a crazed fan rushed onto the stage to Simon's wide-eyed fearful reaction, an eerie thing considering the subject matter. Simon and Garfunkel album

[edit]

I know this album was originally going to be Simon and Garfunkel's reunion album, but I've heard three seperate claims as to why it became a Paul Simon Solo Album (none of them neccessarily from relibable sources): that Paul simply decided he didn't want Art on the Album, that art had objections to some on the songs and left, and that Art failed to record his material on time and Simon released it without him instead of delaying the release.

If anyone can determine what actually happened I think it would make a good addition to the article.--198.93.113.49 15:51, 6 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I think I read in Patrick Humphreys biography that Simon was concerned about the quality of Garfunkel's voice and his refusal to give up smoking. Sounds petty, but smaller things have lead bands to break up! 86.149.92.6 (talk) 12:17, 26 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There are versions of some of the songs with Art Garfunkel singing on them. Some of these versions have appeared on Youtube. I have heard them myself. "Cars are cars", for example (not bad with Artie, methinks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJOtl9g7jUs) So I don't think it's still "unconfirmed rumour". 139.30.62.62 (talk) 09:34, 6 June 2012 (UTC) superbarclay; 11:33, 06 June 2012 (CET)[reply]

Dave Matthews

[edit]

This page links to the Dave Matthews that everyone knows; obviously this isn't the right one, however, I don't know if the intended arranger is one of the other David Matthews that have their own pages. Somoene should figure this out; I don't know it. 70.48.100.137 (talk) 20:02, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re-examined?

[edit]

"However, this album has been re-examined in recent years and is considered to be one of Paul's more important records and a lyrically strong one."

Whilst I whole-heartedly agree with the sentence above I think it is necessary to know: By whom? And why? Can you update us on this one? superbarclay 88.72.211.126 (talk) 23:09, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
