One, what is t the difference between "short stories" and "short fiction" in the contents lists? Two, should mention be made of the S&S23 call for submissions, found here mzbworks.org? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.62.80.114 (talk) 15:31, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  1. The organizations that give out awards usually divide short fiction works into categories based on the word count with the common divisions being short story (up to 7500 words), novelette (7,500 to 17,500 words), and novella (17,500 to 40,000 words) based on the word count. Works over 40,000 words fall into the Novel category as far as the awards go though these days the average novel is much larger.
  2. Yes, you could have added something to the article about the call for submissions though now that it's been published I've added S&S23 to the main article. --Marc Kupper|talk 21:38, 29 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
