Let's all decide what to call the 2 or 3 articles about the Nanking Massacre.

  • The book: does it need its own page?
  • The Rape of Nanking: should it redirect to the massacre page, be about the book, or what?

Ed Poor

The book needs its own page. The Rape of Nanking hence referred to the incident especiallty among Americans since the publish. Rape of Nanking will mainly talk about the book with a note saying it can be used as a term for the incident whereas Nanjing Massacre describes the Japanese atrocity. Battle of Nanjing delineates the fierce battle which entailed the Massacre. and links to the other two pages.

OK. In the interest of Wiki-Peace I will accept that Nanjing massacre (probably should be lower case "m") for incidents following the actual battle, and that the Battle of Nanjing would deal with events relating to the actual capture of Nanjing. - all of these of course with pinyin romanizations and not "Nanking". The term Rape of Nanking should be strictly restricted to talk about the specific book rather than the underlying events. Eclecticology

Sounds like you both are saying:

Exactly Ktsquare

I think the events and that title will last much longer than the book as the signified of "Rape of Nanking". Check Google for '"Rape of Nanking" -book -young -yin' Hotlorp

also refered to my talk page as I have clarified the point earlier.
