Palpatine's Battle Meditation ability is mentioned in one of the Expanded Universe novels. I'm thinking it was The Truce at Bakura, but I'm not sure (it's been a while since I read that). Can anyone say authoritatively which book it is in?

I don't know about The Truce at Bakura, but Battle Meditation is also mentioned (albeit not by that name) in the Thrawn trilogy by Timothy Zahn. Grand Admiral Thrawn explains to someone why the Battle of Endor was lost after the destruction of the Death Star, even though there were enough Star Destroyers left to wipe out the rebel fleet. He concludes that the Emperor must have used what is called Battle Meditation in KotOR, and that the troops were demoralized and confused after it was interrupted. --Drangon
I don't remember battle meditation being mentioned in Truce at Bakura, but it has been a while for me as well. --Aidje 21:36, 2005 Mar 29 (UTC)
There was a battle computer in The Truce at Bakura, which aspired to do much the same thing, but tactically. And btw, there is no actual evidence that either the Emperor or Darth Vader had any skills in Battle Meditation- the Death Star mk II's guarding fleet was empowered by Grand Admiral Nial Declann. --Maru (talk) Contribs 23:26, 5 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Extra page

[edit]

Does this power really deserve its own page? We already have a page dedicated to Force Powers. What reason to have this page? It's not a particularly common ability like Telepathy, it does not appear in the movies, and within the games, books, and comics it does not appear frequently at all. -- Solberg 06:49, 23 September 2006 (UTC)Solberg[reply]
