Re: Jesus' supposed prophecy of these events: I recall that this particular section is thought to have been altered after the fact; Mark, which was probably written down before the event, has the prediction that "there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down" -- and that didn't happen; the other Synoptics, probably written afterwards, omit such specifics. --MIRV 17:49, 6 Jan 2004 (UTC)


There is disagreement. As you say yourself, Mark was probably written before the fact. Many scholars think the other Gospels were written before AD70 too, partly based on the fact that they record the prediction but not its fulfilment. See Dating the Bible and others.
