Do you think we could not forward all the requests for Fernando Lopes to Fernão Lopez/Fernão Lopes? I'm writing a bio for Fernando Lopes and it's a little irritating all coming to this page. Is Fernando Lopes really a common variant for Fernão Lopes? They are two differetn names in Portuguese. Paul Castro 10:31, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have searched for a bit but at least it's not a verbatim copy from the net that I can find - however I'm dubious someone would actually write the text the way it was formatted here... OlofE 10:59, 28 Aug 2003 (UTC)

I find the whole story a little dubious. How could a one-armed man survive for so long on an otherwise uninhabited island? --Smack 18:45, 8 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

It's not so unbelievable when you consider several slaves were also cast away with him. From the sounds of it St. Helena in those days was a mini-paradise. Kmorrow 12:20, 29 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
