About the stub

[edit]

Just wanted to let you know that the stub in the Canadian Beer article was mainly for someone to make easier access to the Beer and Brewery stub, rather than use the search engine. Sometimes you can type the wrong character and end up somewhere else or not at all. Elwin Blaine Coldiron 15:04, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thank you for adding the proper link for the OpenCola listing in Wikibooks Recipes. Since I am something of a blithering newbie to Wikipedia. your expertise is greatly appreciated.Unidyne 23:55, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

From other projects

[edit]

Oh trust me, many of the edits I have created have originated from seeing them on other projects, which is one of the great things about Wikipedia as we can use the help of others to make the project better as a whole. The more professional we look as well, the more respect we will get from others in Wikipedia. Thanks for the message.--Chef Christopher Allen Tanner, CCC 07:16, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Beer style chart

[edit]

I'd agree, except that's what was tried a year ago and nothing's improved. Frankly, if we're going to have a disclaimer that essentially says "this chart is quite possibly wrong", we should just not have the chart. What's more, the use of a graphic discourages people from improving things, I think. If we could implement it in a table it might be better but even then it'd be a whole big bag of unsourced argument fodder. Look at Talk:Pale Ale for an example. --Stlemur (talk) 23:08, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Boreale.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Boreale.gif. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 11:38, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Issues with TinucherianBot in Project Banner Tagging for WP:FOOD

I have made some comments and explainations at Wikipedia_talk:Bots/Requests_for_approval#TinucherianBot and I am leaving this note just for your information -- TinuCherian (Wanna Talk?) - 09:57, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Beer category decision

[edit]

Hi Daniel - I'm alerting the project members to this discussion.

A discussion has been opened on changes that have been made to the existing Beer category system. The changes reverse the decision made by the Project in April 2006. The changes were based on agreement by only two people, and by a discussion that took place outside the Beer Project. There may be some merit in the changes, and to prevent future conflict it is important that there is some discussion of the matter. If you're interested, please see Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Beer#Brewery_cats.

How are you keeping? We haven't spoken for ages. I've been fairly quiet on the beer project for a while. Just a little nibble now and again on some beer or beer style that has caught my atention. The recent tagging incident brought me back, and it was a good opportunity to have a chat with ClockworkSoul as we hadn't spoken in a while either. There was a period when there was a lot of arguing, and I grew unhappy with that. Have things settled? SilkTork *YES! 14:28, 14 July 2008 (UTC) SilkTork *YES! 14:28, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. Human nature! And I agree with your comments on F&D talkpage. SilkTork *YES! 12:42, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Community forum

[edit]

A Community forum has been set up at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Food and drink/Article guidelines for the various Food and Drink projects to develop a set of Manual of Style guidelines for use in articles under the auspices of all the related Food and Drink WikiProjects and task forces. This would be similar to the MoS guidelines for biographies or legal articles.

Please feel free to comment.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Proposed deletion of Open Source Beer Project

[edit]

The article Open Source Beer Project has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Notability not established and the sources are all connected to the project, which appears not to have taken off. If the article is to be retained it will need a full rewrite with proper sources

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Speedy deletion nomination of Commando Battalion

[edit]

Hello Daniel11,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Commando Battalion for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. Take a look at our suggestions for essential content in short articles to learn what should be included.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.
