"The German Federal Police is organized along military lines into platoons, companies and battalions"

Is that still true? Heard that they nowadays are organized similar to the regular police units.

I think the reputation paragraph should be more near the end than at the front. Plus, if you are going to quote incidents of abuse, please add a reference - it's the right thing to do. Robbie69 14:53, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What about that picture of a Unimog excavator? Is that BPOL or state police? Looks like state police to me. Robbie69 (talk) 12:44, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Federal Police doesn't use Alouette II, Sa-330, Bell 212 and Bo-105 anymore. I think they could be removed from the list. Or should there be listed all ever used types of helicopters? For source see www.bundespolizei.de. --Moe S. (talk) 11:26, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Missions

[edit]

The protection of foreign embassies is the original duty of the state police agencies, in this case of the Berlin Police, Direktion Zentrale Aufgaben - Zentraler Objektschutz (Dir ZA -ZOS) (Directorate Central Services - Central Security Services). Sorry, just in German: http://www.berlin.de/polizei/wir-ueber-uns/struktur/dirza/zos.html ReinickendorferFuchs (talk) 15:25, 27 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

criticism

[edit]

Even the german wiki show some points of criticism in the article and i wonder why it is missing here? That goes for lethal and non leathal weapon abusing, overboarding ruthlessness, false testimony, excessive esprit de corps (including runner-down mentality), inner psychology pressure and even about abuse of people hold in custody. The leadership of the federal police (Bundespolizei) waste trainees in kind of throwing them into the deep end also. There is a single semi-independent department watching the misbehavior of members of the federal police, founded in 2015. There is no official statistics about misbehavior and the german goverment dosnt count it necessary to keep a log about it. Any visitor to germany is warned not to come close to the federal police because of their lack of experience in regular police work. That is quiet understandable if you know about the field of work they intended to look over as it is told already in the article: riot control, shielding of goverment buildings and train stations, special opperations (GSG9), costum offical, border control (even if there is no visible border) on country and seeside and some issues more. Their units is called "Hundertschaften" (100 person strong unit) meaning of military company alike. That militarism is a point of critic also. People who come in struggle with the federal police should always seek help from the regular police forces called "Landerpolizei" meaning the local police departments who does the regular police work not just by a teaching lessons but by daily work. Demonstrations are generally watched and "shielded" by the federal police (Great 8, Great 20 and such) and so keep a close eye on excessive behavior of violance people can sucked in when close to a demonstration (even the press is hurted and supressed by the federal police). This section is not just a warning but a criticism of the (wrong)doing of the federal police in germany as it is in the german wikipedia already told where you can find the resources of information (in german) also.
