South San Joaquin Irrigation District

[edit]

I suggest an own article for South San Joaquin Irrigation District. This a very important topic.--Nopetro (talk) 13:43, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. The question isn't whether or not the topic is important, but if you can locate enough reliable sources that have written about it, discussed it, or otherwise provide verifiable third-party information from which someone can develop an article. I'm not saying it can't be done. I'm just pointing out what needs to be done for such an article to survive. If you were going to research and write such an article, I would highly recommend fully developing it in your Userspace and then moving it into the Articlespace after it is written. Be sure to include citations to the sources you used (preferably with inline citations) and include information that establishes the District's notability, preferably even outside of San Joaquin County. I hope that gives you a good start, and good luck with writing that article if you decide to. If you have questions or need any help with editing on Wikipedia, leave me a message on my talk page and I will respond as soon as I can. Have a good day! —Willscrlt “Talk” ) 17:14, 23 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you a lot for your response. The problem: I live outside of California and I cannot get too much information from outside the Internet. I am going to search information in Internet. Do you know something about the topic and can provide some sources ?. Thanks in advance. --Nopetro (talk) 06:31, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry. I live in California, but Sacramento is about an hour's drive north of there; certainly closer than you are, but still not an easy side stop on my daily commute. A quick glance at their website shows a fair amount of information, and the related links should include some additional information and/or corroboration of their information (so that the entire article isn't based solely upon a single source). I don't know enough about what an Irrigation District is or what it does to judge if it is notable enough on its own, but I'd suggest searching the archives of http://www.sfgate.com, http://www.sacbee.com, and http://www.latimes.com to see if they get any press coverage outside of the local area. If they do, that should be notable enough. I hope that my comments were at least a little bit of help. —Willscrlt “Talk” ) 10:23, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You are right. The main problem is that does not exist a (general) irrigation district article (I have redirected it to an article of legislation about irrigation districts). --Nopetro (talk) 13:09, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
