What's a CBD? Is it a "central business district"? Is CBD a general term I was unaware of, or is it a Sydney-specific term? The Anome

yes, Central Business District, it is certainly used throughout New Zealand, I thought it was now accepted English, obviously not Ping

We use it in Victoria too, and (I think) all the other states of Australia. Don't know about other countries. Tannin

It was first used c.1927 by Ernest Burgess for his concentric ring model (Chicago, therefore not an A/NZ term). Very widely known and accepted term in geography.

Surely there's not point having a separate article for Cockle Bay? If it did exist, it would be merged with this article, wouldn't it? JPD (talk) 10:57, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
